The purpose of prenatal care is to help you maintain a healthy normal pregnancy, gain confidence in your body’s ability to birth, build trust with your birth team, and receive individualized care for your needs during this transformative time. Prenatal appointments take place in the comfort of your own home, typically last 1 hour, and include all tests and procedures routinely offered in obstetric care. The extra time and care provided ensure you are well educated and prepared for your empowered birth!
Nothing beats being in the comfort and the privacy of your own home for one of the most sacred experiences of your family’s life. Birthing at home allows you the freedom to labor undisturbed, surrounded by the people you love, attended by midwifery professionals with access to both holistic and medical training. What we experience at the moment of birth sets the patterns of safety, love, and acceptance that stay with us for a lifetime – let us help create those patterns for your family.
Your care during the postpartum period is just as important (if not more so!) as prenatal care. The first two weeks after the baby is born should focus on rest, recovery, establishing breastfeeding, and very little else! In-home visits during this time will ensure you and your baby get off to a great start. A postpartum recovery kit with soothing holistic remedies are included in your care to support your body in the healing process.
Placenta encapsulation comes from the 2000+ year old Traditional Chinese Method of using your placenta as medicine to promote healing in the postpartum period. Consuming your placenta can restore vital minerals and iron lost during delivery and help your body maintain a proper hormonal balance. Using sterile techniques, your placenta is prepared into easy-to-swallow capsules. A special umbilical cord keepsake and placenta tincture for long-term use is also included in this service.
